emb_05. Frog Embryo// Stages: Gastrulation and Neurulation
1. Study the structure of the frog embryo on the stages of gastrulation (1) and neurulation (2):
- 1 - in the sagittal section find the frog embryo’s dorsal and ventral lips of blastopore, the yolk plug located between them and the gastrocoel/endodermal canal;
- 2 - in the cross-section the frog embryo is ovoid, the dorsal part is observed due to neural crests - paired thickened crest-like folds of ectoderm, limiting the wide dorsal streak of the nerve plate (made up of the rudiment of the central nervous system (neuroectoderm).
