emb_08. Axial complex of the rudiments of the chicken embryo (hematoxylin staining)
1. Study the structure of the chicken embryo at the stage of forming axial complex of organ rudiments:
neurulation:
- the neural tube formed during the process of neurulation is placed beneath the ectoderm;
- find a compact, small-sized cellular cord in the middle of the embryonic disc - notochord;
- on the sides of the notochord (parachordal) in the differentiating mesoderm, identify symmetrical cuboidal structures - somites;
- the splanchnotome gets layered into parietal (external) and visceral (internal) layers with a coelomic cavity, metacelia between them;
- the somites and splanchnotome are connected by nephrotomes;
- the internal layer is made from the endoderm.
2. Draw and sign: 1 - ectoderm, 2 - neural tube, 3 - notochord, 4 - endoderm, 5 - somite, 6 - nephrotome, 7 - parietal layer of the splanchnotome, 8 - visceral layer of the splanchnotome, 9 - coelom.
