1. Study the structure of the mucoid connective tissue in the umbilical cord:
- is found during the embryonic period in the embrionic adnexa;
- fills in the space between umbilical blood vessels;
- contains intercellular substance where fibroblast-like cells are localized and synthesize mucin;
- the bigger part of the intercellular substance is amorphous (due to the fact it has jelly-like structure); collagen fibers are not numerous.
